On Saturday, I went to Eric and Niki's wedding in Ft. Lauderdale. The wedding was at the River House Restaurant on the Riverwalk which I got to checkout before the wedding since my flight arrived on time and I had some extra time to walk around. As Eric would put it, it was the best wedding...ever.

It was a great time and very well planned. It started with the ceremony at the gazebo which the weather was beautiful for (although later in the night it seemed to get warmer, but maybe that was just a South Florida thing). After the ceremony, Eric and Niki were showered with bubbles as they got on a boat to go for a ride on the river. To everyone's relief they came back for the reception which included dinner, dancing and general good times. It was great to see Eric's family and get a chance to hear how things are going with them. After being beat numerous times at a game of shells with his nephew, I was finally able to beat him in the final game of the night.

After things at the reception wrapped up there about 11:00 PM, I traveled to my destination for the night. I stayed at a cheap motel that was shady to say the least. After finally getting to sleep, I was awoken in the middle of the night (about 2AM) by some sort of alarm that I never did figure out what it was. Well, I had my wake up call set for a little earlier than I needed to make sure I got to the airport on time (and maybe get out of that motel). I made it through the night with no more alarms and was at the airport in plenty of time.

Overall, it was a great trip. It was definitely unusual for me since I wasn't even gone for 24 hours. I wish Eric and Niki the best of luck in their life together and I know they will be successful.
